Checking In

You don't have to be a member of Ancestry.com to visit the site and look at the postings. There is now a posting for the Martin-Laws Family Tree. It leans more heavily towards the Laws side of the family. We are still left with the mystery of what happened to George W. Martin in 1850, between the state census in Alabama in June, and the federal census later on. GWM defintely shows up in the state census as a number if not a name. In the federal census, he is gone completely. Who made off with him, and where that person took them, is still being researched. I have reason to believe that somehow he ended up with a Martin family in Dale County, Alabama, but that is only tentative. There are only the censuses to work with. That's the news for now.
